Acrylic paint and epoxy resin on a cradled birch panel combines the immediacy and versatility of acrylics with the glossy, depth-enhancing finish of a clear epoxy coating. The cradled birch panel provides a stable, warp-resistant substrate that highlights fine detail and preserves the wood’s subtle warmth around the painted edges. In this series of small works on wood panel, layered acrylics build color, texture, and form, while the epoxy seals and magnifies those layers, creating a glass-like surface that intensifies color saturation, adds luminous depth, and offers durable protection. The result is a compact, tactile piece that balances the handmade brushwork and materiality of paint with the clean, modern sheen of resin, inviting close inspection and reflecting light in ways that change with the viewer’s perspective.
