Acrylic on birch panel coated in epoxy, this piece balances rich, saturated color with a disciplined simplicity: broad swaths of pigment sit cleanly against the smooth, glass-like finish of the epoxy, allowing each hue to read with clarity and depth. The birch panel provides a sturdy, warm substrate that subtly informs the composition’s structure while the epoxy surface amplifies luminosity and preserves the brushwork beneath. Color relationships are the focus—layers are restrained but potent, inviting quiet contemplation rather than visual noise. The result is an artwork that feels both immediate and refined, a study in how pared-back forms and vivid color can coexist with a polished, tactile presence.
