Black Snake
Black Snake
A dense tableau of birds, snakes, and lush plants unfolds across the wooden panel, each element rendered with attentive observation and layered texture; the birds hover and perch in varied poses, their feathers catching light, while sinuous snakes weave through the undergrowth, creating a tense counterpoint to the foliage’s calm. The plants—broad leaves, tendrils, and flowering stems—form a verdant maze that both hides and reveals the creatures, suggesting moments of discovery and quiet danger. The entire surface is sealed beneath a glossy epoxy finish that amplifies color saturation, deepens shadow, and lends the composition a jewel-like, wet sheen; the resin glaze also creates subtle depth, as if the scene exists just below a still surface, inviting close inspection while protecting the physicality and detail of every stroke.
