A continuation of my facination with the way that light passes through and around marbles. When I was younger my grandmother gave me a coffee can full of old marbles. I used to imagine them as individual worlds.

Oil on linen panel, 8” x 10”. Influenced by some of the works by Paul Gauguin. He isn’t my favorite artist, but there is something about his work that is so primal and organic. I recently watched a documentary about him, and I was thinking about it when I set up and painted this still life.
